Where We Work

Nnadozie foundation is currently working in Abia State Nigeria. Abia State is a State in South eastern Nigeria. The capital is Umuahia, although the major commercial city is Aba, formerly a British colonial government outpost. The State was created in 1991 from part of Imo State and its citizens are predominantly Igbo people (95% of population). It is one of the nine constituent States of the Niger Delta region. There are 17 local Government areas comprising 184 wards. It has a population of about 3.5 million people. The rural areas of Abia State lack basic infrastructure such as good roads, electricity, health centres and water. Consequently, poverty and unemployment are prevalent in these areas. Tradition bestows authority on the men thus there is a wide gender gap in the State. Nnadozie foundation is working hard to improve the living conditions of women and children under these difficult conditions. We are also gearing up to scale our operations to other States in Nigeria.
